Athletics Academic Support Coordinator

The Athletics Academic Support Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the academic success and eligibility of Pepperdine student-athletes. This position is responsible for implementing individualized academic plans, monitoring progress toward degree completion, and ensuring compliance with University, conference, and NCAA academic standards. Through collaboration with coaching staff and campus partners, the coordinator provides timely academic updates and contributes to the overall mission of the University by fostering student-athlete development both in the classroom and beyond.

Duties

• Advise and monitor satisfactory progress of student-athletes according to Pepperdine, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Implement and structure academic plans for specified student-athletes.
• Oversee the evaluation and certification of student-athletes continuing and transfer eligibility.
• Provide real time academic progress data to assigned teams coaching staffs. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Uphold University mission through work performed.
• Oversee and manage our student tutoring program. Includes hiring and scheduling of tutor sessions.
• Manage book program for student-athletes on athletic scholarship.

Skills and Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree 
• At least 3 years experience in academic support with student-athletes
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps

Preferred

• Master's degree or higher
• NCAA Division I experience with knowledge of NCAA Division I rules
• Knowledge with developing an at-risk program and experience in learning strategies
• Former student-athlete experience
• Knowledge of Peoplesoft, NCAA software, and Teamworks software

This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $26.33 - $29.26 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
