Description

Rockhurst University is seeking applications for a part-time Athletics Communication Specialist. The Athletics Communication Specialist supports the Sports Information Director and is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the athletics communication department including:

• Assist with website maintenance, design, and day-to-day updating
• Maintain and update departmental archives; team and individual statistics and records
• Develop content, monitor, and coordinate social media
• Assist with production and editing of all digital and print media
• Execution of game management and statistical program operation
• Help support athletic special events
• Oversee live streaming and broadcasting of applicable home contests
• Assists with institutional, GLVC, and NCAA awards programs
• Facilitates positive relationships with various media outlets, GLVC and NCAA staff, visiting media, and athletic department staff
• Other duties as assigned

This position requires a non-traditional work week which includes some evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of athletic communication best practices and trends
• Experience of statistical systems, or a willingness to learn
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and willingness to come up with creative ideas.
• Bachelor's degree

• A minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

• Commitment to compliance and knowledge of NCAA and GLVC rules

• Promote the mission of the Athletic Department and Rockhurst University
