Summary:

Under general supervision the Head Sprint Football Coach is responsible for developing a best-in-class sprint football program that represents the institution and athletic department’s mission and values. The head coach will lead, teach, recruit, and graduate a diverse group of high character student-athletes who embody respect, sportsmanship, service, hard work, and determination. The sprint football coach will lead a program that competes at a high level on the field and in the classroom. Student-athlete welfare and experience will guide all decisions made by the sprint football coach.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the educational mission of the University by coordinating the instruction of student-athletes in sprint football training and competition.
  • Oversees all aspects of the program, including but not limited to game preparation, practice execution, scouting and supervision of assistant coaches.
  • Recruits high character student-athletes for the sprint football program.
  • Instructs methods and strategies to effectively coach student-athletes in the sport.
  • Makes recommendations for scholarships.
  • Schedules practices and games.
  • Coordinates all hotel reservations and meals for travel.
  • Communicates competition schedule with administrative assistant for bus transportation reservations.
  • Trains and supervises assistant coach(es).
  • Participates and engages in campus events, organizations, and committees as assigned.
  • Monitors specific sport budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.
