Position Summary:

The Athletics Mental Health and Performance Clinician operates within a Division I Intercollegiate Athletics program, dedicated to academic and athletic excellence, and will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Mental Health and Performance with support from the CSUHN Assistant Director of Outreach and Embedded Services. The role involves providing comprehensive psychological services to varsity student athletes. The successful candidate will serve as a licensed mental health clinician dedicated to cultivating a culture of psychological wellness and resilience within the Athletics Department. The professional provides consulting and outreach services to student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and administrative personnel regarding the psychological well-being of individuals and teams. A key function is enhancing participation and performance by teaching psychological principles and strategies necessary to achieve optimal mental health and consistently improve sports performance. This position will be assigned as the point of contact for specific teams.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Maintain clinical and sport psychology caseload in a variety of formats with the purpose of evaluating, diagnosing, and treating mental health disorders and relevant sport-performance opportunities, consistent with the level of care required for a successful Division I student-athlete
