Counseling Center (CC) seeks an Athletics Mental Health Clinician to join its team of professionals. The candidate would join a team that values diversity, strives to practice and promote healthy functioning, and supports one another to do its best work.
The full-time Athletics Mental Health Clinician supports
UCM
Athletics through direct clinical services to student athletes, coordination of treatment with team physicians and athletic trainers, outreach and training to coaches, teams, and athletic staff, and consultation to athletics leadership and staff. The services are intended to promote student-athlete mental health, holistic wellness, academic achievement, and athletic excellence. An understanding of athletic identity and culture is critical to the success of this position.
The successful candidate will be a team-oriented professional who enjoys supporting student athletes and will work closely with Athletics personnel to created a healthy and successful program. We encourage individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds to apply.
Master's degree (Specify field(s) of study below)
Masters in Counseling, Social Work, or in related field that meets criteria for Missouri (MO) State licensure as Licensed Professional Counseling (
LPC
) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (
LCSW
) or Licensed Marital & Family Therapist (
LMFT
) required.
Coursework or additional training in sport psychology, athletics, performance.
Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Other - Electronic health record system.
Two (2) years (full time or equivalent) providing clinical mental health services required.
One (1) year in higher education setting working with student athletes or one (1) year in sports psychology required.
Experience in university/college counseling center preferred.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position:
Criminal History check, Driver's license

Current license for independent practice required (licensed psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, or equivalent). If licensed in a different state, must become licensed to practice in Missouri within 3 months of hire. Preferred: additional certification by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (i.e.,
CMPC
).

Rules and Regulations.
Experience working with high risk concerns (suicidality, eating disorders, substance abuse, trauma) and providing risk assessment and crisis intervention.
Training, experience, and demonstrated competence and humility in providing culturally responsive services to diverse student groups.
Commitment to professional learning and growth.
Ability to comply with

privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times, per discipline and facility standards, as well as athletic program standards.
Ability to adhere to legal, ethical, professional, and accreditation standards and requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
