Position Summary
The Athletics Operations & Business Management Assistant supports the day-to-day business, administrative, and
strategic functions of the ECU Athletics Department. This position provides hands-on experience in applying management principles to enhance organizational performance, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with university and NCAA policies.

• Assist with departmental budgeting, purchasing, and expense tracking; prepare financial reports and reconcile
accounts for athletic programs.
• Coordinate logistics for athletic events, team travel, facility scheduling, and inventory management.
• Support short-term and long-term projects related to facilities, marketing initiatives, and fan engagement strategies.

Essential Job Duties
• Assist with departmental budgeting, purchasing, and expense tracking; prepare financial reports and reconcile
accounts for athletic programs.
• Coordinate logistics for athletic events, team travel, facility scheduling, and inventory management.
• Support short-term and long-term projects related to facilities, marketing initiatives, and fan engagement strategies.
• Gather and analyze data related to athletic performance, attendance, and operations to support decision-making.
• Assist with content creation, social media scheduling, and marketing campaigns to increase visibility of ECU Athletics.
• Help organize staff training sessions, student worker scheduling, and onboarding materials for new personnel.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Management or a related field.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in intercollegiate athletics and higher education administration.

Work Environment

The position operates in an indoor environment. Work environment includes exposure to loud noise such as crowd noise and music during sporting events. The role may involve interactions with irate individuals at sporting events or upset student athletes.
