Position Summary
The Brand Management & Trademark Licensing Coordinator supports the development,
protection, and promotion of the university’s trademarks, logos, and brand identity across
all platforms and entities. Although housed within the Athletic Department, this role serves
the entire university — working closely with colleges, departments, student organizations,
retailers, corporate sponsors, and licensees to ensure consistent and appropriate use of the
university’s marks.

Position Summary
The Brand Management & Trademark Licensing Coordinator supports the development,
protection, and promotion of the university’s trademarks, logos, and brand identity across
all platforms and entities. Although housed within the Athletic Department, this role serves
the entire university — working closely with colleges, departments, student organizations,
retailers, corporate sponsors, and licensees to ensure consistent and appropriate use of the
university’s marks.
The coordinator assists in managing day-to-day trademark licensing operations, brand
compliance, marketing initiatives, retail visibility, and collaborative licensing strategies that
enhance the university’s brand value and generate revenue.
Principal Responsibilities
Trademark Administration
Assist in reviewing, approving, and tracking licensing applications, renewals, and product
submissions.
Manage the artwork approval process through CLC’s BrandManager360 and internal
Decisions software.
Oversee finished sample approvals to ensure trademark accuracy, color consistency, and
product quality.
Support enforcement efforts related to trademark infringement, including monitoring
online platforms and retail markets.
Brand Integrity and Compliance
Enforce university brand guidelines in collaboration with University Marketing and other
internal stakeholders.
Review and approve internal use of marks by campus departments, student organizations,
and club sports.
Monitor and respond to inquiries regarding brand and licensing policies.
Conduct regular marketplace surveys to ensure compliance and identify unauthorized use.
Retail and Marketing
Support initiatives to enhance the retail presence of licensed products on and off campus.
Assist in seasonal promotions, social media campaigns, and retail activations.
Identify new licensing opportunities and monitor industry trends through trade
publications and events.
Engagement
Serve as the point of contact for student groups, departments, and vendors seeking brand
usage approval.
Assist with trademark education and outreach efforts across campus.
Coordinate with internal partners to promote brand awareness and policy adherence.
Provide oversight and mentorship to department interns.
Education & Experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience in a licensing, retail, brand/marketing, or legal environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent planning, organizational, and customer service skills.
Supervisory experience or ability to manage interns.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a collegiate trademark licensing office.
Understanding of collegiate retail and fan engagement strategies.
Passion for higher education, university spirit, and brand storytelling.
Work Environment
Full-time, on-site position.
Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities, particularly around athletic events or retail
activations.
Frequent interaction with a wide variety of constituents across campus and within the
collegiate retail universe.
