The Advancement Division engages alumni, friends, parents, students, community leaders, businesses, corporations and foundations to seek their philanthropic support of the university and its priorities. The Advancement Division builds relationships with each of these constituencies, provides ongoing stewardship of these relationships as well as prudent fiscal management of the contributions placed in its care.
The Braves Club Director works as a member of Advancement staff in close partnership with Athletics in the management, growth, and stewardship of UNCP’s athletic booster club: the Braves Club.
The Braves Club Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the
following:
Manage and direct the membership activities of the Braves Club, UNCP’s athletic booster club, building and applying professional knowledge of best practices and procedures for donor/membership clubs.
Develop strategy and manage annual giving activities to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors for the Braves Club, including direct mail and digital solicitations. This includes the membership upgrade and renewals processes. Manage design of marketing collateral to effectively engage others in Braves Club mission. Lead the annual Back the Braves Campaign, a digital campaign for team fundraising, requiring partnership with coaches and student-athletes.
Review provided reports and analyze data to ensure progress towards strategic goals and identify areas for improvement. Work in conjunction with Advancement Services to ensure accurate reporting to Advancement and Athletics leadership.
Support the Braves Club committee, a volunteer committee within the
UNCP
Foundation Board of Directors, and implement quarterly committee meetings.
Answer all Braves Club donor and team questions and resolve issues within appropriate delegated responsibility. Provide excellent customer service and serve as subject matter expert on athletics giving and fundraising needs.
Manage and execute benefit fulfillment and distribution by membership level for all current Braves Club members.
Initiate and plan donor visits for solicitation and stewardship of annual- and leadership annual giving-level gifts.
Assist the Director of Alumni Engagement and athletic staff with alumni engagement to further grassroots giving efforts.
Plan, staff, and implement Braves Club hospitality for all home football games and all doubleheader basketball games as well as special events such as the annual Cash Bash fundraiser. Support other Athletics and Advancement events as appropriate.
Other duties as specified by Vice Chancellor and Athletic Director.
The Braves Club Director position requires a Bachelor’s degree and related experience in an area such as annual giving, fundraising, alumni relations, or communications.
The individual in this position must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced higher education setting and abide by Advancement, institutional, and
NCAA
Division II policies.
Routine weekend and evening work is required to manage Braves Club functions centered around athletic fundraising and stewardship events. Other duties in support of Advancement events may be required.
