Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Steeped in history and success while embracing strategic innovation, our programs compete at the highest level and strive for national championships. Tech fans are passionate about their support of their beloved Yellow Jackets and cherish the many traditions involved with the program.
This position leads the care, maintenance, and use of the Athletic Association's Control Room at the ACC Network Building, all video equipment, and the video infrastructure connecting the various athletic venues. Additionally, this role will direct the day-of-show engineering for the Georgia Tech Athletics Association's (GTAA) originated broadcasts, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Network broadcasts, and video board shows. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Georgia Tech (GT) Athletic staff, external partners, and campus partners. This position typically will advise and counsel: GT Athletic staff, external partners, and campus partners. This position will supervise: N/A.
Job Duty 1 -
Lead the care, maintenance, and use of the Athletic Association's Broadcast facility and remote broadcast locations, all video equipment, and the broadcast infrastructure connecting the various athletic venues.
Job Duty 2 -
Direct the day-of-show engineering for GTAA originated broadcasts, ACC Network, and video board shows.
Job Duty 3 -
Oversee and maintain broadcasting core equipment, software, hardware, and local area network applications on systems throughout the video production facilities and venues.
Job Duty 4 -
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on audio/visual equipment located in GT Athletics offices, athletic venues, and broadcast control rooms.
Job Duty 5 -
Serve as subject matter expert for workflows related to computer editing systems, including media archiving and storage of video production assets.
Job Duty 6 -
Serve as a key liaison to outside broadcast partners for GT Athletics venues.
Job Duty 7 -
Ensure compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), ACC, and institutional rules and regulations
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
5-7 years of job-related experience.
ABILITIES
While performing the duties of this job; the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and reach with arms.
KNOWLEDGE
This job requires an in-depth knowledge of video broadcast production equipment, ross video switchers, Ross Expression, Daktronics LED displays and components, video instant replay systems, broadcast cameras, fiber & coax cable termination, and Click effects; excellent communication and technical skills; ability to collaborate with partners internally and externally; advanced decision and problem-solving skills; ability to provide strategic direction and focus.
