University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good.
The Broadcasting Graduate Assistant is responsible for duties included but not limited to all aspects of broadcasting: set up, on-air play by play/color analysis, and clean up with the goal of creating, managing, and maintaining content that strategically enhances the brand of the University of the Incarnate Word in all external communications. The Broadcasting Graduate Assistant reports to theAthletics External Relations Manager.
This is a student position open to current UIW graduate students.
Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Strong writing and communication skills;
- Self-starter and ability to work without supervision;
- Familiarity with broadcast equipment and audio boards;
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Able to work nights and weekends;
- Provides a team player mentality that offers help for the greater good of the team and department;
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

| Required Education |
- Current UIW graduate Communication Arts student.
- Students awaiting acceptance from UIW graduate program may also apply with job offer contingent upon acceptance.

| Required Work Experience |
One (1) year of experience with television or radio outlet.
|
| Preferred Qualifications |
None.

| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid drivers license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.
|
| Work Hours |
Required to travel during football season, with the possibility of additional travel for playoffs or other sports coverage.
|
| Physical Demands |
Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
