Job Summary

 

The Business Operations Specialist ensures all transactions for the assigned division, college, or unit are compliant with established policies and procedures of the University, Board of Regents, State of Georgia, and other governing bodies. Serves as a liaison for the division and other units within the department and university. Assists with the implementation of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

 

1-
Financial Transaction & Compliance - Entering, reviewing, or approving budget related transactions for departmental travel, operating supplies, and contracts. Assisting internal stakeholders with the utilization of required systems, processes, and compliance regulations.

Budget Reconciliation - Reviewing and assisting with reconciling financial transactions such as revenue generation, travel and operating expenses, and related budget transactions across multiple funding sources.

3-
Budget Analysis - Provide analysis and insight into revenue and budget accounts. Preparing and submitting financial transaction adjustments related to personnel, travel, operating, and capital expenditures.

4-
Campus Coordination - Coordinates, reviews, and ensures financial transactions are processed accurately and timely including P-Card transactions, purchase requests, and travel. Partners with campus services such as Accounting, Budget, Purchasing, Travel Services, etc. on business related functions supporting the department.

Required Qualifications

 

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience and one (1) year of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Preferred Education
Master's Degree

Preferred Experience
Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials or other financial services programs. Previous higher education experience.

Proposed Salary

 

$50,540 Annually. Paid on a Monthly Basis.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of financial processes and guidelines. Strong financial process knowledge with the ability to deliver results. Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to process data entry quickly and accurately. Strong attention to detail and followup skills. Strong customer service skills and phone and email etiquette.

Abilities
Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Effective team player, flexible, quick learner, and self-motivated.

Physical Requirements Office Environment - Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
