The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as “The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Career Management Specialist for the Athletics Events – Operations department. This position will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development and Success.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Oversees all career development for assigned intercollegiate athletic programs and as assigned.
Handles individual and group career advising, campus engagement, job placement and employer relations.
Oversees a Career Interest Cluster as assigned.
Develops and manages an internship program.
Serves as staff liaison for several teams, managing their community engagement, personal enrichment, one-on-one career advising, and alumni programming.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in human resources, education, business or any related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in the field of career advising, recruiting, human resources, or a related field.

- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- General understanding of collegiate athletics (preferably Division I).
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Skills in database management and record keeping.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

- Five years of experience.
- Participation as a NCAA Division 1 student-athlete.
- Demonstrated ability to create and conduct workshops and presentations.
