The Coordinator, Broadcast Operations for Virginia Tech Athletics will assist with all engineering and broadcast operations for the athletics department. The position will provide support alongside the Chief Engineer and Assistant Director of Engineering for HokieVision, including ACC Network (ACCN) and In-Venue Experience (IVX), as well as maintenance and service of all broadcast, camera, and videoboard display equipment. The Coordinator, Broadcast Operations will be responsible for coordinating the logistical aspects of equipment to various venues to ensure proper coverage of all home athletics events. This includes the set/strike of equipment, testing, and troubleshooting prior to the next event. The coordinator will also be responsible for training students how to properly use equipment as well as best practices and preventative maintenance.
This is a developmental position designed to springboard the candidate to a long career in the sports production industry. As such, there is a 2-year cap on the position.

General knowledge of control room environment (video switchers, graphics platforms, LED displays and components, replay systems, broadcast cameras).
Exhibit a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a team setting.
Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed, including but not limited to, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field OR combination of education and relevant work experience.
Strong knowledge of ACC and NCAA regulations.
General sports knowledge in relation to broadcast.
Knowledge of industry-standard broadcast equipment including Ross, Evertz, Ikegami, Cisco, Dante, Riedel, Canon, Daktronics.
Various cable termination experience – including ability to splice and/or solder.
Strong knowledge of Network Infrastructure – including Switch Topology, VLANs, VoIP, DNS, Serial applications.
Ability to rapidly identify and diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and/or incorporate workarounds in a live broadcast setting.
Up-to-date knowledge of technology and industry trends to provide enhancements to current broadcast space.
