Job Summary/Basic Function:

1. Generate and/or disseminate content intended to inform and project a positive brand image of Wright State Athletics and the University2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, statistics and results of teams, players and coaches3. Act as the secondary contact for media

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree 2+ years of experience in collegiate sports information or relevant field Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills Must work well individually and in a team environment Proficiency with MS Office suite of products, and desktop publishing Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Experience with producing creative video content for various social and digital platforms

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or relevant field of study Experience with website management Experience at the Division I level

Essential Functions and percent of time:

45% – PUBLICITY AND MEDIA RELATIONS Write and edit news releases, game recaps, game notes/previews and features in order to publicize Raider Athletics. Disseminate game results via web site, social media, and other methods deemed necessary. Assist media, general public and other NCAA schools with requests. Coordinate efforts designed to promote teams, coaches and players to media sources. Serve as primary contact for women’s basketball and other assigned varsity sport programs. Nominate student-athletes and coaches for conference, regional and national awards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, statistics and results of players, teams and coaches. Coordinate such events as media days, press conferences, conference championships for hosting media relations efforts and other media relations events. Coordinate all operations during games, including assignment of seating for writers, statisticians, radio, television, photographers and scouts; and enforce post-game interview policies. Establish effective interpersonal relationships with coaches, players, administrators, students and the public. 20% – VIDEO PRODUCTION Lead efforts to create, develop and produce high quality video content, including elements for social and digital platforms 15% – SOCIAL MEDIA Compose social media content for Raider Athletics and individual sport programs 10% – PUBLICATIONS Write, edit and design pertinent Athletics Department publications for assigned sports. Publications include media guides, game programs, etc. for assigned sports. 5% – PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT Recruit, hire, train and supervise other staff members and/or interns Supervise statistical crews and other event support personnel. 5% – Perform other duties as assigned
