Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director (AD) for External Affairs, the Coordinator of Marketing & Fan Engagement develops and implements a comprehensive marketing strategy and associated campaigns for Winthrop University’s
NCAA
Division I athletics program.
Develops a comprehensive marketing strategy and implements associated campaigns to promote attendance at athletic events and enhance the fan experience.
Directs and produces the in-game fan experience for home athletic events.
Assists with sponsorship fulfillments by executing in-game promotions and developing promotional materials and creative content.
Hires, trains and manages student employees and volunteers for game day operations, community appearances, on-campus promotions and site visits.
Assists with ticket sales by coordinating special groups/functions for community stakeholders and corporations, including national anthem groups and halftime groups.
Helps the division ensure consistency in its branding and messaging through management of the athletics licensing program and sale and execution of sponsorships.
Works to grow licensing, ticket and sponsorship revenue by increasing the number of licensed/community partners.
Creates digital and social media content for promotions and fan engagement.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and three years of relevant experience in intercollegiate athletics or amateur or professional sports.
Experience in marketing or communications.
Knowledge of the principles and best practices of marketing and campaign development. Exceptional computer, organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills. Ability to create effective communications and balance multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to work with staff, student-athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work flexible hours. Sufficient technical ability to master software needed to perform job duties.
