Position is responsible for managing and implementing development efforts to raise funds from alumni, parents, corporations, and other friends of Drury. Using best practices and supported by a strong research and analytics-driven donor services team, this position will help expand identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential friends and donors to fund university-wide priorities and designated projects. Regional travel is expected. The director is also responsible for the overall management of the parent giving and athletic giving program at Drury University. Working with the EVP, the Director will set and achieve annual program metrics to advance and increase philanthropic resources for the university. The Director will also collaborate closely with frontline fundraisers to oversee parent philanthropic engagement, including creation, implementation, and direct management of the Parents Leadership Council (PLC.) He/she will be responsible for the overall management of the athletics annual giving program, contribute to major gifts and will achieve annual metrics as set in concert with the EVP and in consultation with the Director of Athletics.

Manage an assigned portfolio of approximately 150 prospects at the major gift level for all types of gifts and constituents. Identify qualify, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward these prospects.
In collaboration with colleagues and consulting partners, plan and manage the successful implementation of parent solicitations, and stewardship programming and events for parents in the Parents Council. Develop, manage, and coordinate the PLC including relevant events and communications. Coordinate and implement activities designed to increase prospect, alumni and donor engagement and secure philanthropic gifts in support of the university. Articulate the goals and priorities of the campus through excellent informal and formal communications. Write donor correspondence, contact reports and proposals, and provide updates and briefings on program status. Keep current on programs and initiatives that meet the university’s strategic objectives. Works closely with the EVP and the major gifts team to maintain a successful major donor management system and active prospect review process. This includes regular activity reporting, recording relationship tracking information and analyzing cultivation and solicitation results.
Perform within specific activity goals including number of proposals delivered, meeting expectations. Prepare an annual portfolio plan in consultation with the Executive Vice President for University Advancement. Contribute to a dynamic, creative and energetic team environment.
Direct all aspects of parent giving program, including formulating and implementing strategies for short and long-term fundraising outcomes, devising performance metrics, and closely coordinating parent engagement with senior university and Office of Advancement leadership as well as frontline fundraising staff.
Conduct personal visits, peer-to-peer solicitations, direct/coordinate mass marketing (email, phone, mail, events, and marketing materials) to secure new, retain, and upgrade Parents Council gifts.
Refine and support the Parents Council program and its members, including recruiting Council members and directing their volunteer efforts in peer solicitations and stewardship outreach activities to other parents.
Work in conjunction with Admissions, Athletic, Advancement, and Student Affairs for key events. Actively participate in pertinent activities such as Move In, Family Weekend, and Commencement activities. Develop engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for former student-athletes and current student-athlete parents.
Responsible for all fundraising activities for NCAA and Non-NCAA sport specific annual campaigns and annual fund goals.
Work with coaches and programs to plan and execute fundraising strategy with approval and coordination with other Advancement activities. Serves as liaison to Athletics.

Education and Experience:
Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred. Must have a minimum of three years of professional fundraising experience
