Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in the benedictine tradition, is seeking a Director of Athletic Communications. Reporting to the Athletic Director, the Director of Athletic Communications is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive communications strategy for Saint Anselm College Athletics. This individual serves as the primary media contact for all intercollegiate athletic programs, oversees day-to-day sports information operations, and plays a key role in elevating the visibility and brand of Saint Anselm Athletics through digital, print, and broadcast media.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Relations & Game Coverage

• Serve as the primary public relations contact for all 22 NCAA varsity sports.
• Manage all aspects of game-day media operations, including statistics, press box/table staff, and post-game reporting.
• Prepare and distribute game previews, recaps, media advisories, and news releases.
• Develop strong relationships with local, regional, and national media to promote teams and student-athletes.

Digital & Social Media Strategy

Key Responsibilities:

Media Relations & Game Coverage

• Serve as the primary public relations contact for all 22 NCAA varsity sports.

• Develop strong relationships with local, regional, and national media to promote teams and student-athletes.

Digital & Social Media Strategy

• Lead the department’s social media efforts across platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok), focusing on engagement, storytelling, and branding.
• Supervise creation and distribution of digital content including graphics, video highlights, interviews, and feature stories.
• Collaborate with the marketing staff to align messaging and tone with broader institutional campaigns.

Website & Statistical Management

• Oversee the maintenance of the athletics website (saintanselmhawks.com), ensuring timely and accurate posting of rosters, schedules, scores, recaps, statistics, and features.
• Coordinate the use of NCAA-approved statistics software (e.g., Genius, StatCrew, PrestoSports) for in-game and post-game reporting.
• Ensure historical records, archives, and team histories are accurately maintained.

Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise and mentor assistant sports information professionals, interns, and student workers.
• Develop training and coverage plans to support broad coverage of sports throughout the year.
• Collaborate with external relations and video/creative services teams on integrated content strategy.

Branding, Broadcasting & Recognition

• Oversee live streaming/broadcasting efforts in partnership with production staff or vendors (e.g., NE10 NOW).
• Coordinate athletics honors and award nominations (CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America, NCAA, NE10, etc.).
• Uphold and enhance brand consistency across all materials and digital platforms.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in athletic communications, preferably at the collegiate level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA statistics software, website management (e.g., SIDEARM or Presto), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and social media tools.
• Strong writing, editing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel as required.
