The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Director of Donor Engagement who will work within the department’s Development unit.

These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Director of Donor Engagement who will work within the department’s Development unit.
The Director of Donor Engagement requires a strong ability to manage complex athletics development projects and is a key member of the donor engagement team. They work to develop both communications and events strategies and are the primary project manager for external communications efforts. This professional will work regularly with campus units and external constituents.
Job activities consist of leading the creation of donor proposals, collateral pieces, stewardship reports, email outreach and solicitations and the department’s annual report. The role will support events by drafting talking points and remarks, reviewing briefings and event materials, and supporting pre-and post-event communications. This role also oversees the production of annual benefit fulfillment and stewardship publications. On behalf of the development office, and in collaboration with the athletics marketing and communications team, this professional develops strategic outreach and communications plans throughout the year. Finally, this position will focus on data and reporting by conducting assessments on executed communications, event impact and alumni/donor engagement.
This position will supervise 2-3 members of the donor engagement team and will provide support and lead work direction on key department projects and day to day work.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $75,000.00 - $95,000.00.
