The Director for Football Student-Athlete Development reports directly to the head football coach and serves on the football leadership team. Responsible for developing and implementing curriculum and programming that promotes holistic development of ISU football student-athletes, tracking metrics of success, participation reports, managing student-athlete roadmaps/life design plans, and creating program summary reports that align with the commitment areas of:
Emphasis is placed on implementation of a comprehensive programmatic and support services strategy designed to promote completion of vocational life span development tasks, retention and successful transition into life after their time at Iowa State University for football student-athletes. This position will regularly collaborate with the football coaches/staff and the ISU student-athlete and letterwinner engagement staff. Will assist in efforts to recruit, retain and holistically develop student-athletes. Responsible for performing all duties with a high level of integrity and in adherence with NCAA, conference and university policies. Additionally, the position will serve as a resource for former football student-athletes to help with life transitions 3-5 years after they exhaust their collegiate athletic eligibility.
The successful candidate will possess strong program management, communication, networking and problem solving skills. This position requires the ability to be engaged in the coaching staff meetings, attend practices and travel with the team. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree.
Experience working with high level athletes in a collegiate student-athlete development and/or professional player development role.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading preparation programs for NFL/NBA/MLB athletes and involvement with the combine process.
Experience leading NCAA Division I player development programs.
Former NCAA Division I student-athlete.
