Direct and develop a top-quality, comprehensive strength and conditioning program (Mens Basketball) for Clemson University Athletic Department. Collaborate with performance areas (Sports Medicine, Nutrition, Mental Performance, mental health) to support student-athletes physically and mentally. Performs other duties as assigned.
45% - Essential - Program Development and Recruitment: Develops year-round strength and conditioning programs for Mens Basketball program. Provides instruction to student-athletes relative to proper lifting and conditioning techniques with goals of safety and optimal athletic performance. Develop testing and evaluation parameters to measure performance and provides feedback to student-athletes. Identify special needs and strategies to achieve team and individual goals. Communicates the programmatic offerings within the Womens Basketball program to prospective student-athletes during visits to the Clemson University campus.
25% - Essential - Performance Team Collaboration: Collaborates with sport coaches and performance staff to ensure programming and goals are applicable to individual student-athletes. Effective communication with student-athletes, coaches, sports medicine, nutrition, academics, administration and mental performance. Apply program principles and techniques to ensure desired training efforts. Utilizes information to prescribe training programs, sleep, and eating habits that bring desired results in body composition, performance and health.
20% - Essential - Research: Review the latest research (peer reviewed publications) in human performance methods such as speed, strength, power, agility, flexibility, mental-health, sleep, cardiovascular and muscular endurance, including drug-free restorative considerations to improve athletic performance and prevent injury. Collaborates with internal performance team, peers and researchers at other institutions both nationally and internationally.
10% - Essential - Facility and Fiscal Operations: Managing, in collaboration with the Director for Womens Basketball Strength and Conditioning, the scheduling, maintenance of the facility ensuring Develop, Manage and Supervise the budget and operations of the Swann Pavillion weight room.
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience - 3+ years
Licenses & Certifications - National Strength and Conditioning Association Certificate or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Certificate.
CPR/First Aid certificate and AED.
Education - Master's Degree

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
