What is the Naval Academy Athletic Association?
The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) is a 501C3 non-profit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the athletic programs of the United States Naval Academy (USNA).”
Through a 36-sport intercollegiate athletic program that is one of the largest in the country, and a highly organized club sports program and intramural sports program, each midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at a level commensurate with their abilities. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the mission of the Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically. The Naval Academy is a member of numerous conferences but most significantly the Patriot League (PATL) and the American Athletic Conference (AAC) for football.
The Director shall serve in a dual capacity as both Director of Athletics of the United States Naval Academy (“USNA”) and President of the Association.
The Director shall:
Support the Superintendent in the execution of the Mission of USNA.
Supervise the handling of the affairs of the Athletic Department of USNA and the Association in accordance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Operating Agreement between USNA and the Association.
Be responsible for the performance of duties of all subordinate officers and employees.
Be responsible for the execution of all established policies, orders and resolutions of the Association’s Board of Control (the “BOC”).
Represent USNA and the Association in negotiations for contracts and all fiscal matters related to athletics.

As a representative of USNA, the Director is expected to uphold the highest standards of personal and ethical behavior.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science and Master’s (Advanced Degree) required.
The successful candidate will have had experience in the administration of a broad-based Division I intercollegiate program that displays a commitment to equitable resources and support for all student-athletes while fostering a collaborative and respectful culture among all coaches, staff and associates.
