Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communication, the Director of Broadcasting assists with the publicity efforts of the University’s NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports by providing oversight of the athletic department’s television and in-house broadcast operations. Night and weekend work required as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead production of approximately 90-100 multi-camera web streams per year on ESPN+.
  • Lead production of the in-venue game presentation for football, basketball, and other spectator sports at video board capable venues.
  • Execution of game day setup for television and in-venue productions.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sponsorship, development, and communication teams to meet department requirements for television and in-venue productions.
  • Act as liaison between the athletic department and its network television partners. Work with networks to ensure the department is meeting its requirements by providing broadcast assets and other assistance in preparation for live game broadcasts.
  • Act as liaison between the athletic department, the Big South Conference, and DV Sport to ensure the department is meeting its requirements for official replay review.
  • Staff individuals to perform television control room functions and camera operator functions for all productions.
  • Staff on-air talent to provide play-by-play and color analysis for all television productions.
  • Responsible for maintenance of all control room and video equipment, including troubleshooting any hardware, software, and equipment issues that arise.
  • Work with staff to maintain recruitment, hiring, and training of freelance and part-time event staff.
  • Work with campus faculty and staff to maintain recruitment, hiring, and training of student workforce.
  • Assist in the strategic management of the athletic communications department budget.
  • Help produce promotional video content for television broadcasts, in-venue use, and social media use.
