The Colorado State University Department of Athletics sponsors 16 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and competes as a member of
NCAA
Division I (
FBS
). The University is a current member of the Mountain West Conference and future member of the Pac-12 Conference. The University is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, 65 miles north of Denver. Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, this position is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy of programs and efforts to increase philanthropic support for the Ram Club, to sell and promote the sale of premium tickets for Colorado State University Athletics events, and to develop general engagement activities for alumni and the community with a focus on cultivating major gifts.
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, liberal arts, sciences, non-profit management/public administration or related field
Minimum of five years of full-time progressive, results-oriented professional experience in sales, fundraising, or marketing or related work experience, preferably in an intercollegiate athletics department and/or university/higher education environment
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with internal and external constituencies
Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and oral/written/electronic communication skills
Development or related experience, preferably at a
NCAA
Division I member institution
Understanding of higher education and university operations
Proficiency with technology and social media to enhance efficiency
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment date
Development or sales experience, including demonstrated experience and success with raising major gifts/revenue
Development or related experience, preferably in a large, metropolitan area
Capital and comprehensive fundraising campaign experience
Small donor/prospect event planning experience
Experience with donor database (e.g., Salesforce, Paciolan)
Experience in proactively and collaboratively creating strategy to qualify/disqualify major gift donors
Essential Duties

- Oversees a portfolio of at least 100 prospects for the purpose of closing major gifts
- Inputs all activity into the CRM, including contact reports, proposals and all other activities to ensure annual metrics are reached
- Be responsible for attaining yearly individual fundraising goals for major gifts categories, cash gifts, multi-year pledges, premium seating pledges, gift-in-kind, endowment and planned giving and create sound individual strategies to achieve those goals focused on growing private support for the athletics department
- Oversee the cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of assigned prospects
- Promote major gift opportunities aligned with the priorities and strategic plan identified by the Department and the University
- Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, and stewards alumni and friends of the University, in the Denver Metro area, capable of giving major philanthropic gifts

- Collaborating on initiatives that serve the best interests of CSU Athletics
- Assist Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development with ensuring Development unit is an inclusive environment for staff and meeting university’s principles of community
- Ensure compliance with all departmental, University, conference and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
