The Director of Development, Athletics Loyalty Giving/Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing annual giving strategy and programming for the Athletics Development staff. This position plays a critical role in generating the annual philanthropic revenue required to help fund scholarships and operating expenses for a highly competitive, Big XII intercollegiate athletics program. In an effort to maximize donors’ annual philanthropic support, this position collaborates with various partners across campus, leads a talented staff, manages a portfolio of prospects, and serves as an integral part of the Frog Club, University Advancement, and Athletics teams.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 plus years’ experience in annual giving programs, sales or marketing.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.
• None
• Knowledge of fund-raising strategies to assist in success of long-term fund-raising efforts.
• Knowledge of communications, presentation and interpersonal relationship techniques.
• Knowledge of customer service techniques.
• Knowledge of organization techniques.
• Knowledge of the role competitive intercollegiate athletics plays in a higher educational setting.
• Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques as well as intercollegiate athletics.
• Knowledge of annual giving best practices.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communication.
• Skill in effective public speaking techniques.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Skill in analyzing data to make informed business decisions.
• Ability to implement program activities and fund-raising strategies.
• Ability to work independently as well and on a team.
• Ability to lead and manage a staff.
• Ability to collaborate with various partners on campus.
• Ability to articulate a compelling case for support both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to travel occasionally to meet with donors or for athletics events.

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
• This position is on campus and in person.
