JOB DESCRIPTION
USC Athletics is looking to hire a Director of Digital Production, Football to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for producing creative video projects for the USC Football team. From ideation to execution, this role will take creative projects from start to finish with an emphasis on recruiting, in-venue, social media, and internal platforms. Additionally, this role will occasionally lead in-venue video projects for other USC sports.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Creative, Production, the Director of Digital Production, Football will work in collaboration with the Athletics Creative Department and Football Recruiting. The ideal candidate will be an excited, passionate, action-oriented creative mind who exhibits an expertise in video editing, has extensive experience shooting football, understands studio lighting and production, and has a portfolio featuring stunning short-form and long-form video content. Experience with complex creative skills (such as 3D animation) is preferred. Understanding the current landscape of online digital media, this position will cement USC Football as the industry leader in creative content. Knowledge of and experience working in higher education preferred. Understanding of the unique culture and needs of college athletes preferred.
This position serves a large student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for a variety of populations, and is expected to contribute to the program’s demonstrated commitment to non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all. Shoot creative video pieces related to USC Football, including but not limited to: recruiting, social media, in-venue, and internal.
Professionally build and light studio sets for video shoots.
Produce in-venue videoboard video content for various USC Sports.
Push the needle with complex creative skills (3D, motion design, After Effects, etc.).
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) and 3 years of experience (5 years preferred). Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
Advanced skills in cinematography
Advanced skills in video editing
Experience building and lighting studio sets for video shoots
Experience producing both short-form and long-form video content
Advanced skills Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
Organizational skills and attention to detail in regards to content editing and distribution
Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal
Valid driver's license required. Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System. A copy of DMV record will be required as a final condition of employment. For more information, please visit the policy website.

Salary Range
The annual base salary for this position is $95,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
