Position Overview
The Director of Equipment Operations oversees the maintenance, inventory, and distribution of athletic equipment for all NCAA intercollegiate athletic programs. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Athletics/Chief of Staff, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that all sports programs are properly equipped and that equipment operations align with the university’s academic and Christian mission.

Position Overview
The Director of Equipment Operations oversees the maintenance, inventory, and distribution of athletic equipment for all NCAA intercollegiate athletic programs. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Athletics/Chief of Staff, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that all sports programs are properly equipped and that equipment operations align with the university’s academic and Christian mission.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily operations of equipment management, including maintenance and inventory of athletic gear.
• Assess equipment needs and manage procurement, including generating purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for uniforms, apparel, and equipment, ensuring timely distribution and retrieval.
• Supervise game day equipment setup, ensuring all teams are properly outfitted and prepared.
• Ensure all uniforms and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and repaired as needed.
• Lead, train, and oversee equipment staff and student workers.
• Coordinate transportation and logistics for football equipment during away games.
• Ensure compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations related to equipment management.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Attributes
• Strong knowledge of athletic equipment, inventory management, and purchasing processes.
• Familiarity with university procurement, travel, and employment procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate equipment-related logistics.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supervising staff and/or student employees.
• Commitment to upholding NCAA compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Essential Job Functions
• Moderate physical activity, including lifting objects up to 25 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods.
• Exposure to various environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures, dust, dirt, and loud noises.
• Driving cars and/or trucks to transport athletic equipment.
• Availability to work nights and weekends as needed
