Exempt Full-time Staff
A. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the weight room for football program
B. Maintain a safe and functional weight room.
C. Organize, develop, and implement off-season and in-season training programs for student-athletes.
D. Assist with special events concerning Elmer Gray Track Stadium or Powell Fitness Center
E. Assist in student-athlete’s holistic development.
A. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the weight room for football program
Adheres to all ACU, Western Athletic Conference and NCAA policies, procedures and bylaws pertaining to student-athletes, prospects, recruiting, etc.
Maintain excellent accounting records with fiscally sound budget practices.
Assist with scheduling responsibilities to ensure all sports and student-athletes have reasonable and fair access.
Regularly meet with coaches and support staff to best support student-athletes.
Ensure weight room guests are in compliance with NCAA regulations.
B. Maintain a safe and functional weight room.
Responsible for daily equipment inspections monitoring wear and tear.
Implementation of maintenance schedule for equipment.
Knowledge of upgrade requirements and equipment purchasing.
Keep abreast of ever-changing information concerning strength training equipment.
Provide a safe environment conducive for student-athlete physical development.
C. Organize, develop and implement off-season and in-season training programs for specified sports.
Knowledge of best practice, as well as staying abreast of current research within the field of strength and conditioning.
Coordinate training times for specified sports, with special consideration and priority given to sports “in season”.
Develop individual training schedules for student-athletes.
Modify workouts in coordination with sports medicine staff for student-athletes with injuries, ailments and/or other limitations.
Be willing and able to teach athletes proper techniques in weightlifting, speed and agility training that corresponds to his or her sport.
Be willing and able to teach athletes of all ability levels as it pertains to strength and conditioning and be flexible with implementation of different techniques and movements that apply to the athletes’ current level of preparedness.
D. Assist with special events in relation to Powell Fitness Center.
Familiarity with facilities and appropriate protocols
Have flexible and helpful attitude to coaches, students, camp directors, etc.
Present a positive image of the department and university to the public when using these facilities for special events.
E. Assist in holistic student-athlete development for specified sports.
Responsible for student-athlete strength and conditioning development and teaching and implementing programs to student-athletes.
Assist in the spiritual, personal, and academic development for student-athletes.

Professional
Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s preferred
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Hold certification from either (CSCCa) as a Strength and Conditioning Certified Coach (SCCC) and / or the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in coaching related to strength, conditioning, and speed development.
