Summary of Duties:
This position, in conjunction with the Assistant AD, Marketing/Fan Experience, oversees the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive strategic marketing and promotions plan for all home athletic events for all 17 sports targeting a variety of diverse audiences including alumni, faculty, staff, friends of WSU, administration, and current students.
Specifically, this position will have delegated oversight of all marketing and game production for the men’s basketball program and serve as the number 2 on football. This position will work in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience to help hire, train, and supervise the marketing department’s student internship program.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends on a regular basis.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in marketing, public relations, communications, sports management or other related field.
Demonstrated successful marketing and promotion experience in athletics.
Demonstrated experience in the development and management of budgets.
Demonstrated work experience in sponsorship sales and contract fulfillments.
Demonstrated successful experience in management and supervision of internship or student programs.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects independently and with specific deadlines.
Demonstrated experience working in positions that require strong communication skills.
Demonstrated experience running video boards.
Possess strong time management and organizational skills.
Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe software.
Ability to work with students, coaches, and administrators in a broad range of situations.

Monthly Salary: $4,583.34 - $5,416.67; commensurate with qualifications and experience.
