Athletics - Men's Basketball
The mission of the NC State Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. This position will serve as the Director of Operations for Men’s Basketball for North Carolina State University Athletic Department which competes as a
NCAA
Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Handle administrative management functions of the Basketball program to include completion of accurate rosters for student-athletes, processing contracts, travel forms and reimbursements, monitoring and manage budget, coordinating pre-season and post-season events, reconciling recruiting reports, scheduling exit interviews, processing summer school forms, handling admissions coordination, working closely with Compliance office on
NCAA
Clearing House certifications, and oversee the budget.
Work with
NCAA
,
ACC
, Legal,
PNC
and other University officials to complete scheduling for team, including contract negotiations. The schedule is a very intricate process that involves a lot of different organizations and requires a high level of attention to detail and communication.
Oversee community outreach programs for team.
Responsible for all aspects of team travel; including flight, bus, hotel, meals, transportation, practice facilities, per diem expenditures, etc.
Act as liaison between men’s basketball and Athletic Dept., including Sport Administrator, Director of Athletics, Business Office, Marketing, Media, Housing, Compliance and Academic Support.
Supervise Receptionist, Video Coordinator, Assistant Director of Operations, Grad Assistants and Managers.
Oversee all official recruiting visits to ensure
NCAA
compliance. Coordinates all arrangements and ensures all necessary paperwork has been submitted.
Coordinate practice times for NC State and visiting team with
PNC
officials.
Meet weekly with Academic Coordinator to monitor student-athlete academic progress and ensure standards are being met.
Assist student-athletes with housing, financial aid, admissions, etc..
Housing and dining hall coordination for student-athletes.
Serve as business office liaison for basketball program.
Scholarship calculations.
Coordinate use of facilities.
Work with Game Operations staff.
Represent head basketball coach at meetings as requested.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years prior experience working or playing in a collegiate or professional basketball environment.

- Knowledge of NCAA Policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
