Director of Olympic Athletic Performance

Reports to: Deputy Athletic Director

Job status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Director of Olympic Athletic Performance provides expertise, guidance, and training in the area of athletic development for student-athletes participating in a number of the Olympic Sports at Houston Christian University.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a representative HCU, a Christian university, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the HCU community and with the public.
  • Meets with coaching staff to design and implement program for developing athletic performance.
  • Conduct and monitor strength and conditioning programs for Olympic Sports with great emphasis on the safety of athletes.
  • Coordinates student-athlete rehabilitation with sports medicine; assists with rehabilitation of injured athletes and approves return to play.
  • Educates student-athletes about nutrition and supplements.
