The Director of Operations will manage the day-to-day operations of athletic events and facilities unit as well as the event operations for assigned sports and outside events.
Job Duties
Oversee and manage assigned athletics facilities to monitor facility set-up, usage and security
Serve as a primary Game Day Administrator for the athletic department and manage assigned sports including the creation and execution of game day management plans to ensure a positive game day experience for all student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators
Oversee improvements in order to better serve clients and improve the efficiency and safety of each facility for events

Description
The Director of Operations will manage the day-to-day operations of athletic events and facilities unit as well as the event operations for assigned sports and outside events.
Job Duties
Oversee and manage assigned athletics facilities to monitor facility set-up, usage and security
Serve as a primary Game Day Administrator for the athletic department and manage assigned sports including the creation and execution of game day management plans to ensure a positive game day experience for all student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators
Oversee improvements in order to better serve clients and improve the efficiency and safety of each facility for events
Coordinate maintenance requests with Assistant AD for Facilities and Equipment Services for athletics facilities to promote facility operations and cleanliness
Serves as scheduling contact for the Athletic Department as it pertains to practices, events, camps, and outside groups’ use of athletic facilities
Directs, schedules, assigns, & supports the execution of event operations for all pre/regular season, tournament, and post season athletic contests, as well as, other external events including contract negotiations, preparation and execution
Create and execute facility rental agreements with campus organizations and outside groups requesting to use athletic facilities.
Provides excellent customer service to athletic department coaches and staff, campus departments and organizations, and external organizations to encourage continual and regular use of all athletics facilities
Assist Associate AD of Event Operations with budget preparation for the unit
Coordinate with other departments as necessary to prepare facilities for the various events
Position requires working evenings, and weekends, as well as other related duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with previous experience working in an athletics related field. A Master’s degree may substitute for experience.
Working Knowledge of NCAA and Southern Conference rules and regulations with a personal commitment to operate within those rules is required.
Ability to walk around the office and athletic facilities frequently and to lift and move items (potentially up to 25 pounds) and be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working within an intercollegiate athletic program in the areas of facilities or operations is preferred.
