The University of South Carolina Athletics department is looking for a highly motivated Director of Softball Operations. This position will be responsible for:

| Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience |
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Knowledge or experience in collegiate softball strongly preferred; strong computer and organizational skills are essential.

| Knowledge/Skills/Abilities |
Some knowledge or familiarity with college athletics. Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to think quickly, exercise good judgement and use discretion. Familiarity with computer systems to include Microsoft Office and various database systems for recruiting and alumni purposes.

Serve as liaison between softball coaching staff and vendor equipment representatives. Maintain inventory of all equipment throughout the season.

Assist coaches in planning and executing official and unofficial visits by potential student-athletes. Ensure all required paperwork is completed and approved. Participate in the recruiting process in conjunction with applicable NCAA and Conference rules and guidelines.

Develop, plan and execute all special events for softball, including fundraising and camps. Secure meeting rooms, arrange for catering, prepare documents and accept reservations for these events. Work with student-athlete development to coordinate community outreach. Coordinate requests for community and regional involvement such as appearances, speeches, lectures and committees. Coordinate bat girl program. Assist in coordination of coaches’ clinics and youth programs. Work with Gamecock marketing and ticketing on group ticket sales. Communicate and/or meet with little leagues, high school coaches, and alumni to sell group tickets.

Make team travel arrangements, including transportation (airline, charter bus, etc.), accommodations and meals. Manage budget for travel and team meals, maintain an organized travel record. Accompany team and coaches on all away contests. Produce team itineraries for travel dates, communicate with staff and team regarding travel information. Schedule all travel for away games during season and provide logistics for travel, meals, transportation and game filming.
