General Function (Description):
Coordinate the strength and conditioning program for CAU Athletic teams assigned
(including football) by designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs,
regularly testing the athletes to determine the effectiveness of the programs and maintaining
accurate records of athlete's progress. Coordinate the scheduling and daily upkeep of the
sports performance facilities.
This full-time, year-round position provides a Director of Sport Performance for the athletic
department. This position will provide support in the overall organization and management of the
entire strength and conditioning program while reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director and
the Director of Athletics. In accordance with the vision of the Athletic Department, this individual will
be responsible for all areas, including: overseeing the complete operation of strength and conditioning
for 11 NCAA Division II sports; enhancing the physical, emotional and nutritional development of
more than 300 student-athletes, including cheer; working closely with head coaches and sports
medicine personnel in sport performance development; managing staff members; monitoring
voluntary summer strength and conditioning programs in athletics; coordinating use of weight room
areas according to priorities set by administration; managing post-workout supplemental program;
conducting strength and conditioning camps/clinics program; coordinating maintenance and repair of
equipment as well as recommending new equipment for the program; ensuring compliance with
University, NCAA and SIAC rules; and performing other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate
Athletic Director.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising the Panther Stadium
Performance Center, Epps Gym Performance Center, Epps Gym Rehab Center, and
Strength & Conditioning staff; hire, train and supervise interns/student workers; develop year-
round training programs specific to the varsity sports; provide athletes training on proper
technique; coordinate team workouts; develop a record-system and track individual progress
of Student-Athletes; assess data of the training program for each sport; perform routine
maintenance of strength and fitness equipment; maintain an orderly and safe environment;
become knowledgeable and abide by all NCAA rules/regulations.

Condition of Employment
Evidence of your being fully vaccinated for COVID-19, or applicable exemption, is required as a
condition of employment with CAU. Employment is contingent upon your submission of records
showing full vaccination for COVID-19, or receiving the first dose of a two-dose vaccine—or a single
dose vaccine—before your hire date and submitting evidence of a second dose (as necessary, based on
vaccination type) within 30 calendar days of your hire date,
or completion of an exemption before your hire date. Willingness to submit to CAU and CAU
Athletics COVID-19 testing mandates while employed.

Minimum Hiring Standards:
Master’s Degree is Preferred and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field
and Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning
Association (NSCA-CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning
Coaches Association (SCCC) is required
Education
4 years of experience at the collegiate level strongly preferred
Exp.
2 years of collegiate level experience at a minimum
