Title : Director of Sports Performance, Men’s Basketball

Position Summary:

Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate to be the Director of Sports Performance for the Men’s Basketball program. This position is responsible for design and oversight sports performance programs for the Men’s basketball student-athletes.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with basketball coaching staff to establish player and team needs for performance development each year.
  • Design and oversight of performance development programs (including mobility and strength work, power and speed development, movement assessments, athlete monitoring, and recovery planning) to enhance basketball specific movements and energy system development, improve performance in competition, and promote resilience and general health and wellness.
  • Schedule team workouts and manage safe operation of all Weight Room team activities.
  • Collaborate with Basketball Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist on return-to-play programs for injured student-athletes.
  • Tracking and monitoring data assessment and performance, wellness, and readiness metrics relevant to the program.
