Job Description

The Director / Student-Athlete Development will serve as a member of the Virginia Tech Athletics Student-Athlete Development team and will report to the Assistant Athletic Director / Student-Athlete Development. This position will be responsible for creating and executing various personal development programs for student-athletes, including community outreach, sexual misconduct education and alcohol education, and mental health programming. The position will also co-advise the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and supervise the Office of Student-Athlete Development intern program.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution with relevant experience, or a Master’s degree.
Experience in a collegiate athletics administrative area, such as student-athlete development, academic advising, life skills, etc.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality as well as a high standard of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds
Ability to work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with student-athletes at a NCAA Division I university
