The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for the Equipment Manager, Football

ROLE of the POSITION

Assigned multiple sports, the Equipment Manager is responsible for ensuring student-athletes are provided appropriate athletic equipment and apparel for the utmost safety, protection, and comfort during athletic performance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  evaluating equipment needs and determining purchases within budget constraints, communicating with sport coaches with regard to trends and needs, appropriately fitting student athletes with equipment, managing the maintenance and reconditioning of the equipment and coordinating sport equipment needs for home and away contests and special events, assessing personnel needs and assigning student employees appropriately.

Incumbent must be aware of and comply with all NCAA rules, regulations, and training.  Incumbent must ensure that all daily operations related to the above are accomplished within the guidelines, policies and procedures of the UNLV, Athletic Department and Conference.

Position is required to travel with teams and work irregular/variable shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

This position should have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment.  In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance, prior to participating is select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a Minimum two (2) years related professional experience and AEMA Certification. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
