Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations, the Equipment Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate ordering, receiving, embellishing, invoicing, and delivery of team apparel, shoes and equipment purchased from the designated vendor/s or manufacturer/s. The Equipment Specialist is also responsible for coordinating maintenance of team apparel, including daily laundry of practice and game apparel and gear, travel apparel, and equipment. This position coordinates issuing of and tracks team-specific apparel and equipment issued to student athletes.
The incumbent is also responsible for researching best practices related to equipment safety, evaluation of current processes and systems related to the maintenance, ordering, inventory, and distribution/collection of apparel and equipment for the intercollegiate programs served by the Equipment Room. The incumbent is expected to develop and implement operational processes, procedures, and systems related to equipment and supplies that maximize efficiency and resources. The incumbent represents the Equipment Room and works closely with coaches and vendors to meet the ongoing equipment needs of the designated teams. The Equipment Specialist provides lead work direction to one full-time employee and hires and supervises student assistants and interns.
FLSA : Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range/Rate : $4,598 per month - $5,393 per month

Work Hours : Monday through Friday with the frequent need to work evenings and weekends to meet operational needs.

The program of Intercollegiate Athletics is organized and conducted as an integral part of the total educational program of the University. Academic excellence and athletic accomplishments go hand in hand at Sacramento State. There are three separate and

Minimum Qualifications
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
