Position Summary:
The Executive Associate Athletics Director is responsible for managing and assessing a wide range of development programs and activities to achieve the fundraising goals of the department and university. These programs and activities include principal gifts, major gifts, annual giving, donor relations and engagement.
As a senior officer within DAPER, the Executive Associate Athletics Director works with the Athletics Director and other senior leaders within DAPER to articulate fundraising priorities and define specific gift opportunities. The Executive Associate Athletics Director and his/her staff work closely with the Athletics Director, DAPER coaches and administrators and senior development staff to develop marketing strategies that can be used to promote people and programs requiring gift support. In addition, the Executive Associate Athletics Director serves as the lead principal gift fundraiser for the athletics department and the main liaison to the Office of Development’s principal gifts team. When the University is in a comprehensive campaign, Executive Associate Athletics Director also serves as the liaison for Athletics on campaign committees, task forces and teams.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled collaborator and influencer with a strong professional presence, superior interpersonal skills, and the highest level of political acumen. They will have a demonstrated background of building and supporting diverse teams and striving to ensure equity and inclusion within their teams. The director oversees a staff of about 15 and interacts with DAPER staff and coaches, key volunteers, managers, Stanford Alumni Association managers, staff members in the President's Office, university officers, and trustees. General management responsibilities include developing, implementing, and assessing short and long-range plans for achieving departmental fundraising goals, setting and monitoring the general budget, and motivating, assisting, and evaluating staff.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 to $292,000 per annum.
