Position Overview:

Provides overall leadership to the division of external relations and its staff, which will be accompanied by cultivating authentic relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and staff within all departments, internal and external constituents, and establishing clear and concise goals with metrics to meet throughout the year to hold all accountable.

Responsibilities Include:

Oversee the Department's strategic communications efforts, including public relations, athletic communications, social media and the athletics website. Oversee game operations and event management for sporting events. Direct and supervise staff to plan, create, execute, and be responsible for promotional activities, in-game assets, video board

Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:

• Demonstrated ability in leadership, administration, and management.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and managing full-time staff.
• Ability to act independently and exercise sound judgement. Demonstrated initiative in seizing opportunities; a self-starter who can build a cohesive team.

• Ability to develop, foster, and maintain working relationship with various athletics, University and community constituencies.
• 5 to 7 years of administrative experience and proven success in leadership in athletics (High School or Collegiate) is required. Proven success as an Athletics Director at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
• 3- 5 years of game operations and event management experience is required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion is required.

Other Information:

This position works nights and weekends. There could be some travel required or preferred.
