Job Summary:
Drake University is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of First Assistant Head Coach of Women's Volleyball . The first assistant coach will be assisting the head volleyball coach with planning and execution of all aspects of the volleyball program.
This full-time, 12-month position includes recruiting coordination, operations planning, and assisting in compliance coordination.
All of the duties assigned to this position require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, and Drake University.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor degrees
• 1-3 years of experience
Job Duties:
30% - Assist in recruiting and retaining talented student-athletes, both on and off the court, who reflect Drake's commitment to academic and athletic excellence. - (Essential)
25% - Assist in the development and implementation of effective practice plans to prepare student-athletes to compete at a high level. - (Essential)
25% - Assist in organizing a competitive schedule that will situate the team to finish consistently in the top of the Missouri Valley conference, and regularly participate in the NCAA tournament. - (Essential)
10% - Coordinate travel itineraries, including selection of hotels, meals, special events, and team community service initiatives. - (Essential)
10% - Contribute to a culture of excellence and ethics as a member of the Drake Athletics Department, University, and Des Moines community. - (Essential)
10% - Assist head coach in creating a positive academic, athletic, and team-community environment for student-athletes, and support staff within and around the Drake Volleyball program. Perform other duties, as assigned. - (Essential)
The salary for these positions is competitive with peer schools and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
