The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Athletic Department is seeking applicants to join our team as a full-time Fiscal/Event Specialist. This position manages all purchasing and means of revenue intake, in addition to taking the lead on various specialties such as event management communications.

As the Fiscal/Event Specialist, you will be an essential member of our team, overseeing various functions of the department. You will process hundreds of purchase orders and credit card transactions annually, in addition to managing numerous electronic records and the basics of event management. You will fine tune a variety of skills such as problem solving, database management, and financial oversight. This position’s office is located in the Alaska Airlines Center on the UAA main campus.

To thrive in this position, you must be a highly motivated and organized individual who enjoys working in a fun and fast-paced intercollegiate athletic office environment. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and a drive to improve or create efficiencies to best support the needs and goals of the department. General purchasing knowledge, the ability and willingness to learn, and extensive experience working with standard office programs such as Excel, Word, and email are required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management, or related field, and two years experience in purchasing or athletic administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.

PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance or compliance completion within 30 days of the job start date.

UA Safe Title IX certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.
