The Fiscal Services Manager for Athletics and Student Affairs is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial and administrative functions of the departments. This role involves developing and implementing financial strategies to support athletic programs, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints, and optimizing resource allocation. The Fiscal Services Manager will work closely with coaches, staff, and administration to align financial operations with departmental goals and objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a closely related field; at least 7 years of related work experience OR a master’s degree, and 5 years of related experience.
MBA
preferred.
Advanced knowledge of budgeting; accounting principles; personal computer applications. May require specialized knowledge in a particular field of work; Skill in written and interpersonal communication; Ability to communicate effectively with all components of the University and external constituents; manage people and projects.

Budgetary Management (70%)
Manage assigned unit(s) where the job purpose is to administer and direct the overall business operations for Intercollegiate Athletics and Student Affairs.
Serve as knowledge expert, overseeing, and providing analyses and recommendations regarding fiscal and university wide issues.
Direct and oversee activities related to budgeting and financial management which includes advising management on appropriate mechanisms to achieve fiscal objectives while also working to identify cost savings and efficiencies where possible.
Oversee budgetary controls and policy compliance, providing complex budget/financial analysis and planning.
Develop, review, and manage budgets which include annual, augmentations and capital (unrestricted and restricted / internal and external).
Authorize, monitor, review monthly unit revenues and expenditures.
Review and make recommendations related to the acquisition, maintenance, and disposition of all property and equipment.
Design fiscal processes for use in the designated unit; collaborate regarding fiscal matters including human resources and payroll.
Collect and analyze data as required; Manage and conduct financial analyses and projections on all internal and external funds.
Assist auditors (e.g. provides information, explains supporting materials and procedures).
Serve as a member of various committees as assigned.
Departmental Collaborations (10%)
Collaborate with Human Resources and payroll on personnel related items.
Provide support for special projects from Vice President of Financial Operation, the Provost Office, Chief Operating Officer, the President, or others.
Assist the Facilities team with annual space inventory.
In collaboration with the Office of the Controller, provide annual updated on capital equipment inventory.
NCAA
Audit and Other Reporting (15%)
Prepares and assists auditors with financial and statistical reports, including the
NCAA
Financial Report, working closely with the Office of the Controller, Athletic Director, Athletics Compliance Officer, Assistant Athletic Director, and other relevant parties.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
