Description

This position will assist the Head Football Coach in the conduct of the men's intercollegiate football program. The Coach will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, academic, and personal development of the student athletes. The Coach mush be capable of filling in the for the Head Coach when necessary and be aware of the rules and regulations of the University, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the appropriate playing conferences.

Position Duties

• Responsible for the organization of practice, skill development, and instruction of the Defensive units in preparation for contests.
• Assist in the supervision of the defensive staff. 
• Serve as the academic liaison for all football student-athletes, overseeing matters such as class attendance, progress toward a degree, and graduation rates. Retention of football student-athletes will also be a key consideration.
• Assist in recruiting student-athletes who meet University admission standards and can be successful members of the football team. Maintain a working knowledge of and comply with all applicable policies and regulations of Pace University, the Northeast-10 Conference, and the NCAA. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disciplinary action by any of these organizations.
• Represent the University with sportsmanship, professionalism, and integrity at all times. Conduct on and off the field is essential to upholding these values.
• Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.     

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, this position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs are individuals at the University who, because of their function at the University, have an obligation under the Clery Act to notify the University of alleged Clery Crimes that are reported to them in good faith, or alleged Clery Crimes that they may personally witness. CSAs will be required to complete training with respect to the Clery Act and the responsibilities of a CSA.

Supervision Exercised

Will supervise student-athletes, other assistant coaches, work-study student trainers, and work-study student managers.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. 
• Previous college playing and/or coaching experience at the college or high school level.
• Must demonstrate potential to teach, lead, and counsel college student-athletes.
• Valid driver's license. 
• CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain.

Work Hours

Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; evening and weekend availability required. Must be flexible regarding schedule; meetings, practices, games, and recruiting all take place on different days/times of the week.
