Duties and Responsibilities
CRITERIA: Must be classified degree-seeking student in a Masters program under the UHM Office of Graduate Education; be a Graduate School student enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per semester at the University of Hawai‘i, M?noa. Note: International students must take 8 or more credits (full-time) which is a requirement to have an I-20.Maintain the requirements of a Graduate School student including Grade Point Average requirements. Be in good academic standing. Football Only: Per NCAA by-law 11.01.3 Coach, Graduate Assistant – Bowl Subdivision Football (FBS). A graduate assistant coach is any coach who has received a baccalaureate degree and has either received his or her first baccalaureate degree or has exhausted athletics eligibility (whichever occurs later) within the previous seven (7) years and qualifies for appointment as a graduate assistant under the policies of the institution.
BENEFITS: The maximum amount a Graduate Student Assistant may receive will be equal to a Graduate School (General) tuition and fees (general) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, up to a maximum of 9 credits hours per semester. Tuition does not include payment for Outreach College extension courses. GSA will be responsible for payment to Outreach College. Monthly stipend for room and board (subject to the on-campus cost of attendance room and board amount, as provided by Financial Aid Services, rate may be prorated based on start date) from January through May. Required books (up to 9 credit hours) per semester. Position renewable upon satisfactory performance. Tuition and stipend will be will be prorated if appointment is after first day of instruction (January 8, 2024).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to create cut-ups and reports with a XOS Video Editing System and ability to combine edits with Microsoft applications for presentations or on a non-linear platform editing system.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
First Aid, CPR and AED certification by the employment start date.
Computer, cell phone, and social media technology competency.
