Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Football Recruiting Content, the Football Recruiting Specialist produces, edits, and manages a variety of video content for the University of Oklahoma Football Program. This role supports the recruiting efforts, team meetings, social media presence, and overall creative content needs of the program. The position involves capturing and editing footage from games, events, and activities, as well as managing student content creators and the content database consistent with the mission and values of Oklahoma Football.

This position is part of a recruiting team that determines the success of both the football program's on-field success and the student-athlete’s success as an individual. This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, conference, and NCAA.

Essential Functions:

• Edit internal recruiting content and other content as requested by the football coaching staff
• Format and edit team meeting video and other desired content
• Edit and capture social media programmatic video and SOUL Mission content
• Weekly programmatic hype videos during the football season
• Capture and maintain video content at all Oklahoma football games and create post-production edits of game action using acquired footage
• Manage and maintain video production equipment
• Shoot and edit events and activities by OU Football including practice, games, and other events as assigned
• Provide event-support duties including set-up, execution, and tear-down
• Edit weekly recap videos during the football season
• Help manage student content creators and projects as assigned
• Assist in management and training of student creative staff
• Perform high level day-to-day technical and logistical problem solving related to recruiting, gameday, and other football-related events
• Coordinate technical operations in conjunction with the football recruiting content team
• Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Marketing, Journalism or related field AND;

• 24 months of experience in creative media, sports production or related field.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Skills:

• Proven experience in video editing and production
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and content trends
• Knowledge of recruiting management system
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Implementation and strategic oversight of the recruiting processes of prospective student athletes
• Proficiency with video editing software
• Previous experience in football or athletic recruiting
• Three or more years working experience in an athletic department
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, staff, and administrators
• Ability to work under pressure to manage and coordinate multiple projects and requests and meet competing deadlines
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of collegiate athletic programs and operation units
• Knowledge of and commitment to comply with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations
• Highly organized and detail-oriented

Certifications: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date

• Ability and willingness to work long and odd hours, often weekends and potentially holidays during variety of events and camps/clinics
• Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and travel
