Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for a Football Recruiting Coordinator.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Football Recruiting Coordinator plays a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting talented student-athletes to join the University of Washington football program.
Work closely with the coaching staff to develop and execute recruiting strategies aimed at attracting top-tier athletes who not only excel on the field but also align with the program's values and academic standards. Collaborate with the coaching staff to assess and prioritize recruiting targets based on team needs, geographical footprint, skill level, athletic ability, academic qualifications, character, and other important critical factors. Assist coaches with all administrative functions relating to football recruiting, including maintaining lists and charts of prospective student-athletes, making strategic travel plans, preparing targeted presentations, tracking to ensure that necessary documentation is submitted for UW Admissions, Athletic Department Compliance, and NCAA-related factions (i.e. Clearinghouse). 35%
Utilize and maintain recruiting databases, software, services, and film systems, such as Catapult (XOS). Provide training for coaches and staff, troubleshoot when problems arise, update recruiting boards to reflect relevant information and positioning. Remain abreast of updates and advancements in related technology. Utilize recruiting services, databases, and other tools to track prospects, maintain contact information, and document recruiting activities. Build, organize, and analyze highlight videos and cut ups of prospects in film software system. 25%
Coordinate recruiting-related events on campus, including official visits, unofficial visits, junior days, game-day visits, and walk-on tryouts. Schedule and facilitate meetings with coaching staff, academic advisors, and other relevant personnel. Serve as a visit host, tour guide, and a resource for recruits and their families. Provide information about the University of Washington football program, the university, and the college admissions process while also showcasing facilities, coaching staff, academic support services, and campus life. 20%
Establish and maintain positive relationships with high school coaches, recruits, and their families to gain trust and insight into the recruiting process. Communicate effectively through phone calls, emails, texts, social media, and in-person meetings to provide information about our program, academic opportunities, and athletic scholarships. 15%
Assist with student athlete class checks, study hall, and various other administrative tasks. 15%
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience with football/operations at a collegiate or professional level OR equivalent education/experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of NCAA rules and/or work in a Division I-A athletic department and computer experience with database and basic Microsoft Office programs required. Must be organized, team-oriented, self-motivated, a hard worker with excellent communication skills. Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends required. Must have experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive information. Must have a positive attitude.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and familiarity with Husky Football.
