The College Football Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for developing and implementing training programs that enhance the athletic performance, strength, speed, agility, and endurance of football student-athletes. This role ensures that all training regimens are safe, effective, and aligned with the goals of the football program while promoting a positive and motivating environment.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in strength and conditioning, preferably at the collegiate or professional level.
Strong knowledge of football-specific training demands, biomechanics, and injury prevention.
Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
CPR
and First Aid certification required.
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (
NSCA
-
CSCS
) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
Requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physically demanding role, involving demonstration of exercises and lifting of heavy equipment.

Program Development and Implementation:
Design and implement sport-specific strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of football athletes.
Collaborate with the head football coach and athletic training staff to ensure training programs align with team goals and injury prevention strategies.
Monitor and adjust programs based on in-season and off-season requirements, player performance, and recovery needs.
Athlete Performance and Evaluation:
Conduct regular fitness assessments to evaluate strength, power, speed, and agility.
Track and analyze player performance metrics to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.
Provide feedback and guidance to athletes to optimize their physical development and overall performance.
Safety and Injury Prevention:
Educate athletes on proper exercise techniques, lifting mechanics, and injury prevention strategies.
Collaborate with athletic trainers to develop and implement injury rehabilitation programs.
Ensure a safe training environment by enforcing safety protocols and maintaining equipment.
Leadership and Motivation:
Foster a positive and competitive training atmosphere that encourages teamwork, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
Motivate athletes to achieve their performance goals through encouragement, accountability, and consistent communication.
Administrative and Other Duties:
Maintain accurate records of athletes’ workouts, attendance, and progress.
Manage the weight room facility, including equipment maintenance and inventory.
Assist in recruiting by showcasing the strength and conditioning program to prospective student-athletes.
Stay current with the latest industry trends, training methods, and technology in sports performance.
