Game Day Ushers & Ticket Takers – Temporary Part-Time

The Dome is seeking Temporary Game Day Usher & Ticket Takers staff to work on an as needed basis for events in the
2024-2025 academic (June 2024 through May 2025
) season. Now is your chance to join a passionate, dedicated, service-oriented team of people who make each event memorable for our Dome guests. Our Event Staff play a critical role in the success of our events. As a member of the Dome Event Staff Team, you will be part of Syracuse University Football & Basketball games, Special Events such as Major Concerts, Monster Jam and many more. You will also have the opportunity to return year after year, as many of our team members have been with the Dome for over 43 years.

The right candidate is outgoing, polite, friendly, assertive, and detail oriented.
Previous customer service experience is required.
Willing and able to actively engage Guests in difficult, high-pressure situations while remaining calm and professional.
Applicants must be flexible and able to work events that on average last between 4 and 6 hours.
Events take place on nights, weekends, and some holidays.
You are expected
to be available to work a majority
of the high priority events such as: SU Football, SU Basketball, Monster Jam, and all Concert events.
Open positions include the following:
Ushers:
Professionally assist guests with determining seat location, escort guests to seat location if required.
Provide assistance, and monitor guests in each section to ensure the safety of guests.
Observe and report matters of concern to Area Supervisor.
Ushers are expected to interact with guests, and be able to provide assistance to anyone that might require it, whether it is finding their seat location, trouble with other guests, or directions in and around the stadium.
Excellent customer service skills are required.
Aid in the direction of orderly evacuation of the building
if required.
Ticket Takers:
Greet guest as they present their ticket for the game.
Scan each ticket with hand held Ticket Scanners as guests enter the stadium, assuring they have a valid ticket for the event.
Verify that the ticket scanner displays the appropriate message that signals the patron has the proper ticket.
Monitor & Assist with crowd flow as guests enter and exit the facility.
Aid in the direction of orderly evacuation of the building
if required.
You must be able to stand and walk during an entire event in a stadium environment.
Sometimes Event Staff Team Members are required to set up/take down chairs (must be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds) or push guests in a wheelchair.
Portable Ticket Scanner
PPE
will be provided and required to wear if needed.
