General Manager of Football Player Personnel, Acquisitions and Roster Management

UCF Athletics - Football Administration

Under the direction of the Head Football Coach and Athletics Administration, the position serves the football program in the negotiation and fulfillment of player management related contracts and activities within the framework of athletics, university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Serve as a senior member of football staff
• Collaborate with Head Football Coach and Chief of Staff – Football on revenue share expenditures and cap management
• Organizational oversight of football player personnel department
• Oversee evaluation process for prospective and current student-athletes
• Research best practices and collaborate with the strategic competitiveness unit in the development and maintenance of a salary cap at the individual, team, and aggregate level, to include the financial evaluation of positions / position groups relative to market considerations. Includes the preparation, tracking, and cataloging of football student-athlete contracts
• Provides counsel and insight to Head Football Coach regarding roster management and retention decisions
• Research, develop and maintain a professional and personal network of agencies and prospects towards the achievement of related goals and objective

• Active engagement in the negotiation and fulfillment of contractual terms with current and prospective student-athletes

Minimum qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years appropriate experience or ; 
• Master’s degree and two (2) years appropriate experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
• Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Minimum of five years of experience in Power 4 football personnel / recruiting capacity

Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position requires attendance at scheduled home games / matches, which may require work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time.
