Department Summary

The University of North Texas competes as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the American Athletic Conference. North Texas’ athletic programs are classified as NCAA Division I, the largest and highest division among all colleges and universities. The 46,000 square-foot Athletic Center located off South Bonnie Brae Street is the centerpiece of North Texas athletics. Athletics strives to conduct a competitive athletics program that promotes faculty, staff, student and community affiliation and participation with the North Texas Athletics. Provide facilities which attract the highest level of talent and allow student-athletes to perform at the highest level in practice and during competition.

Position Overview

This position will work with key stakeholders in the UNT Department of Athletics, various external constituents, and third-party partners of Mean Green Athletics to advance Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities for UNT student-athletes. The General Manager/Senior Associate AD for NIL will serve as the primary, day-to-day point of contact for all things related to NIL for the Mean Green as well as the liaison on NIL-related matters between all relevant stakeholders. The position will assist in ensuring adherence to federal and state laws, as well as the policies of the designated university, conference, and NCAA. This position will be responsible for advancing NIL opportunities and operations at the University of North Texas.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in related sport; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Intercollegiate Division I Coaching, Recruiting, or Administrative/Leadership Experience.
Masters Degree.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties:

• Leads the NIL program, organization, conceptualizing and advancing opportunities for UNT student-athletes.
• Serves as a resource and primary contact for all NIL-related matters for all relevant university stakeholders, including coaches and athletics department leadership.
• In collaboration with various UNT Athletics leaders, oversee the implementation and regular review of university NIL procedures and best practices.
• Manages NIL questions and requests from university stakeholders (e.g., athletes, coaches, staff, etc.) and external stakeholders (e.g., agencies, third parties, businesses, boosters, etc.).
• Assists student-athlete development unit as necessary with any NIL education for all university and external stakeholders.
• Creates and implements efficient and effective NIL communication strategies in partnership with UNT Athletics communications to keep athletics leadership and head coaches abreast of the latest industry trends and developments.
• Coordinates regular meetings of university and campus stakeholders including but not limited to senior administrators, compliance, student-athlete development, academic services, development, and external relations.
• Assists with the day-to-day management and coordination of player personnel, as well as Fall and Spring evaluation schedules.
• Assists athletics compliance as necessary with the tracking and monitoring of NIL activities in accordance with State of Texas and NCAA guidelines.
• Stays updated on the latest NIL trends and best practices, including legislative advancements, NCAA regulations, and vendor landscape evolution. Adapts role to maximize efficiencies because of evolving changes in NCAA rules and regulations.
• Maintains highest level of confidentiality, both within organization,/university, and other external entities.
• All other duties as directed by the Athletic Director/athletic director designee.

Work Schedule:

Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm. Some evenings and weekends.
